FRIDAY / May 24th, 2013:
3:00:PM Gather together at Hotel Molokai and begin to your immersion into Old Style Hawaiian Music and Aloha Lifestyle.
4:00: Aloha Friday at Hotel Molokai, where you will experience Na Mele O Kupuna. These are local musicians who play together weekly at this Molokai landmark and you will be invited to play along with them.
6:00: Drive to Pu’u O Hoku Ranch
7:00: Settle into Lodge and Rooms
7:15: Dinner
8:00: Fireside Stories and Music
10:00: Sweet Dreams.
SATURDAY / May 25th:
8:00 AM: Breakfast in the Lodge.
9:00: Beginning Class - Introductions and aspirations of participants. Lono’s inspiration for the workshop is connecting Old Style music with you and your Ukulele by playing traditional songs of Molokai and his original compositons.
12:15:PM Lunch and Rest Time
2:00: Tours of Pu’u O Hoku Ranch
3:30: Halawa Valley Twin Beaches ( optional )
5:30: Gather with music
6:00: Dinner in the Lodge
7:30: Lono and Hui O Mele Nei Concert of the history of Molokai through story, hula and music.
10:00: Sweet Dreams
SUNDAY/ MAY 26th:
8:00 AM: Breakfast in the Lodge
9:00: Ukulele Music, Chant and Hula Classes
12:15 PM: Lunch
1:00: Depart for Halawa Valley
1:15: Visit Uncle Pilipo Solatario’s Taro field, learn about the history of Halawa Valley and in the importance of Taro while making fresh and delicious poi.
2:30: Visit Kalani Flower Garden
3:30: Halawa Valley Twin Beaches
4:30: Return to Ranch for free time
6:00: Dinner in the Lodge
7:30: Kava Ceremony
8:00: Kanikapila and Mele Nei
10:00: Sweet Dreams
MONDAY / MAY 27th:
8:00 AM: Breakfast in the lodge.
9:00: Ukulele and Hula classes
12:15 PM: Lunch
1:30: Hike with your Ukulele to the Look Out with Music and Hula along the way. Begin to compose your song to share.
4:00: Free time / Halawa Beach time
6:00: Dinner in the Lodge.
7:30: Last evening Kanikapila and Mele Nei
10:00: Sweet Dreams
TUESDAY May 28th:
8:00 AM: Breakfast in the Lodge
9:00: Musical Farewell & Appreciation Circle
10:00: Vans depart for airport and Noon flights.
12:00: Workshop ends
